# How do international tenants without SSN pay rent

Hi, I have recently set up a lease and payments with an international tenant who currently works in the states but does not have SSN. When he set up the account he did not submit the SSN, however while he is trying to pay rent through Avail, he is asked to fill in SSN to verify his identity now. Apparently he cannot proceed to pay without entering SSN. What can I do now to bypass that and let him pay successfully through Avail?

@HeyItsYang we do have a few workarounds in the product that allow us to address these scenarios. I’d suggest your tenant work directly with our customer care team to get set up. If you click the circle with my photo in it, you’ll see an option to ‘MESSAGE’ - that will open a text field that sends as a DM to me.
